The first NOSSP inter-school sports competition took place this week at Wykham Park Academy.
We took four teams to the Banbury area Key Stage 2 Cross Country event, which had a record number of 14 local schools competing.
With the School Games value of Determination, Bishop Loveday runners demonstrated that in spades, with amazing efforts and results from everyone.
Top 10 individual finishers were:
Year 3/4 Girls: Megan H 3rd; Orlagh M 6th
Year 3/4 Boys: Sam C 5th
Year 5/6 Girls: Bella L 2nd; Matilda V 4th
Team results were as follows:
Year 3/4 Girls: 2nd
Year 3/4 Boys: 4th
Year 5/6 Girls: 1st
Year 5/6 Boys: 3rd
When all the scores were added up, Bishop Loveday finished 2nd overall in the Banbury area competition. Well done everyone! You all tried your absolute best, we are very proud of you.
Congratulations to Hill View who finished as Banbury area champions 2022

We welcomed Rory, our NOSSP School Sports Co-ordinator from BGN, into school this week. He spent a day training our new Year 5 Playground Leaders and preparing them for their new role, supporting our younger pupils with playground games at lunchtimes.
Everyone really enjoyed the training and are looking forward to taking on their new responsibilities. Thank you, Rory for your time and expertise.

We started our sporting calendar of events last week with the Cross Country Competition for all Year 3, 4, 5 & 6 pupils.
The weather was certainly not kind to us, but with lots of determination and perseverance most children completed the course.
Congratulations to all who finished and tried their best, conditions certainly tried even the most confident of runners.
Our top few finishers in each race, will be part of the BLS team to represent school at the NOSSP inter-school competition later this term.

How wonderful to be able to hold a full Sports Day after a couple of years of restrictions. The children were amazing, and the crowd cheered all the racers from start to finish. The roles were reversed during the adult race in the morning, when the pupils loved seeing the adults being extremely competitive! A huge thank you to all who attended during the day and all staff and volunteers who worked tirelessly to ensure the day ran smoothly.
Please see the full results table below. Congratulations to Oceans who went one place better than last year and are Bishop Loveday Sports Day 2022 winners. Well done to Waterfalls and Sun who finished 2nd and 3rd respectively. Fire were this year's Spirit of the Games winners for showing fabulous teamwork and determination throughout the day.
