Keeping Children Safe in Education
Keeping Children Safe in Education is statutory guidance that schools and colleges in England must have regard to when carrying out their duties to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
Governing bodies and leadership teams are asked to ensure that all staff in their school or college read at least Part one of the guidance which is provided below as a separate document.
Reporting a Concern
If you are worried about a child you can:
- Speak to the DSL or a Deputy DSL
- Contact the School Office
- Speak to a trusted member of staff
We take all concerns seriously. Information is handled sensitively and shared only with those who need to know.
If a child is at immediate risk of harm please contact the Police via 999 or MASH (the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub) on 0345 050 7666
Our Commitment to Keeping Children Safe

- Regular staff training and updates
- Clear systems for reporting concerns
- A curriculum that teaches children how to stay safe
- Robust policies and procedures reviewed annually
Online Safety
Children learn how to use technology safely and responsibly as part of our curriculum. We use filtering and monitoring systems to protect pupils while they are online in school.
Support for families includes:
- Guidance on safe internet use at home

We want every family to feel supported and every child to feel safe.
Prevent Duty
As part of our safeguarding responsibilities, we actively promote children’s resilience to extremism and radicalisation. Staff receive Prevent training, and concerns are reported through our safeguarding procedures.
