Geography
‘Geography explains the past, illuminates the present and prepares us for the future. What could be more important than that?’ Michael Palin 2007
Geography at Bishop Loveday promotes and sustains a thirst for knowledge and a love of learning. It is hoped that what they learn in their lessons about the world and the people in it will stay with them for the rest of their lives, evoking an interest with a natural sense of awe and wonder in the world around them.
Our Geography curriculum stimulates curiosity and imagination in our children to explore the locality around them, the wider world and most importantly to know their place within it and their impact on it.
Through their learning they will develop their fundamental understanding of the human and physical processes and the links between them that shape our world as well as gaining a deeper knowledge, understanding and respect for the peoples, cultures, countries and customs within and beyond the UK, understanding how nations rely on each other.
