Our School

Be Kind, Be Honest and have Courage, to live ‘life in all its fullness’ (John 10:10)

Our school, located in the village of Bodicote, is a popular voluntary-aided Church of England school with approximately 400 children. We want to help every child achieve their full potential by equipping them with a feeling of self-worth, a respectful attitude towards others, an excitement for learning and an enthusiasm for life.

Our aim is for every child at Bishop Loveday to flourish academically (within core subjects and the arts and sport) socially and personally through our challenging and engaging curriculum. Bishop Loveday has a strong ethos of equality, supporting children to understand diversity and celebrate similarities and differences. Children’s wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. Our curriculum has a very positive impact on all pupils’ behaviour, and contributes very well to pupils’ academic achievement, their physical well-being, and their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. Our curriculum is informed by research and deliberately designed to enable all of our children to have equal access to knowledge, to value the pursuit of that knowledge and to be able to use that knowledge for good.

We work within a Christian environment and have strong links with our village Church, St John the Baptist and the Oxfordshire Diocese. Our Christian values of Kindness, Honesty and Courage underpin everything that we do and are reflected in our children’s behaviours and respect towards each other.

Bishop Loveday is proud to be part of The Warriner Multi-Academy Trust, and as such we are able to offer 4–18 education, with our pupils being guaranteed a place at The Warriner School to continue their education as a secondary pupil.

The Warriner Multi Academy Trust is a Charitable Limited Company registered in England and Wales. Company number 9696059.  The registered address is The Warriner School, Bloxham, Oxfordshire, OX15 4LJ.

Jane Ridley – Executive Headteacher

At Bishop Loveday, we are all strongly committed to creating a community within which every individual knows that they are truly valued. By doing this, we develop happy, confident children who are fully supported to fulfil their potential both academically and personally.

I hope that as you explore our website, you get a flavour of this unique culture and feel that our school is one where your child can flourish. I have had the pleasure and privilege of leading Bishop Loveday for a number of years, both in my previous role as Headteacher and more recently as Executive Headteacher. I know that Bishop Loveday will continue to grow and thrive under the leadership of our Head of School, Mrs Loader.

Dee Loader – Head of School

I am the Head of School at Bishop Loveday C of E Primary school (since September 2021) and love working in partnership with the staff  and parents to create the best learning environment for all of our children.

As a music specialist, I have a real passion for raising the status of the arts within a school and at Bishop Loveday we try to give our children opportunities to flourish across all areas of the curriculum. I believe you never stop learning and it is this belief that led me to complete Masters in Education and Educational Research. At Bishop Loveday, we truly believe that there should be no glass ceiling when it comes to children's learning and that the values instilled in them at a primary level set them up for life. If you think that this may be the school for your child, then please do pay us a visit. I can give you a tour of our wonderful school and explain to you, in detail, the ethos of our school.

I look forward to meeting you soon.
